The purpose of this thread is to keep track of The Powers That Be and what they do. The PTB do change over time, and who may be among them may or may not always be known to us. What we can do is observe the events of the past and present and ask ourselves, "To whose benefit?"
I'll be posting new videos and news articles (or whatever) whenever I see something that seems to suggest that there is a hidden motive to some event - of course, I welcome anyone who wants to contribute too! It doesn't matter if it is from the past or present (I'll probably be sticking to current events).
Anyway, here are some nice videos (I'd like to thank John James for linking to a different Nigel Farage video in the February thread)

Obama gave his edict: "Assad has no right to lead Syria, and has lost all legitimacy [...]"
To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process. Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!" Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."
Joseph Salerno had an article published on the Mises Daily yesterday, Laundered Money. He made some very interesting insights into the motivations of the PTB:
Despite this enormous depreciation, the Federal Reserve has steadfastly refused to issue notes of larger denomination. This has made large cash transactions extremely inconvenient and has forced the American public to make much greater use than is optimal of electronic-payment methods. Of course, this is precisely the intent of the US government. The purpose of its ongoing breach of long-established laws regarding financial privacy is to make it easier to monitor the economic affairs and abrogate the financial privacy of its citizens, ostensibly to secure their safety from Colombian drug lords, Al Qaeda operatives, and tax cheats and other nefarious white-collar criminals Now the war on cash has begun to spread to other countries. As reported a few months ago, Italy lowered the legal maximum on cash transactions from €2,500 to €1,000. The Italian government would have preferred to set a €500 or even €300 maximum limit but reasoned that it should permit Italians time to adjust to the new limit. The rationale for this limit on the size of cash transactions is the fact that the profligate Italian government is trying to reduce its €1.9 trillion debt and views its anticash measures as a means of cracking down on tax evasion, which "costs" the government an estimated €150 billion annually. The profligacy of the Italian ruling class is in sharp contrast to ordinary Italians who are the least indebted consumers in the eurozone and among its biggest savers. They use their credit cards very infrequently compared to citizens of other eurozone nations. So deeply ingrained is cash in the Italian culture that over 7.5 million Italians do not even have checking accounts. Now most of these "bankless" Italians will be dragooned into the banking system so that the notoriously corrupt Italian government can more easily spy on them and invade their financial privacy. Of course Italian banks, which charge 2 percent on credit-card transactions and assess fees on current accounts, stand to earn an enormous windfall from this law. As controversial former prime minister Berlusconi noted, "There's a real danger of crossing over into a fiscal police state." Indeed, one only need look at the United States today to see what lies in store for Italian citizens.

@gotlucky: Great thread. I don't know why I hadn't seen it before now.
I speculated here that TPTB actually intentionally plant "gang-signs" into news stories and the times/dates of events in order to "signal" each other. Yes, it sounds far-out but if you grant that the State is just a gang of thugs writ large, you realize that it's not so far out after all.
Also, check out the 2010 section of my blog, I found what I suspect is an anomalously high number of oil industry accidents during 2010, most of which only barely made the news after the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon accident. April 20 - the date of the attacks - is Hitler's birthday, BTW. Oh, and President Obama had announced a bill expanding offshore oil-drilling just 19 days earlier... on April Fools' Day! Inside joke, anyone? Call me crazy all you like, I don't care! I can see the patterns well enough to actually predict them ahead of time, so put that in your pipe and smoke it! Damn those anti-conspiracy-theory tards.
I have recently concluded that war with Iran is inevitable (see the Demonization of Muslims and Islam thread). Bookmark this to keep an eye on US naval posture, an excellent forward indicator of imminent US hostilities. Specifically, I predict war (at least aerial operations) by mid-2013 at the absolute latest.
Here's a great resource for mapping relationships between TPTB. Just spend some time browsing this site if you want to get the names of some of the assholes that really run the world to type into Muckety. If I were an investigative journalist, I think I'd dedicate a good deal of time between just these two websites.
Anyway, I look forward to contributions from any of my fellow tinfoil-hat brethren...

Take it with a grain of salt but here's an entertaining look at symbolism in corporate logos, architecture, politics and elsewhere. The more you look, the more you find. But, yeah, it's all a coincidence. So pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

A week or two ago, I read a headline that said Sarkozy will leave politics if he loses in the French presidential election.
After that, a lone gunman makes three attacks in southern France. He confesses to killing seven people in the name of al-Qaeda.
I imagine election victory odds for Sarkozy will increase significantly in light of this. Coincidence? Maybe not...

A thought that just came to me: false-flag terrorist attacks are like a parent paying others to abuse his child.
I officially place you in charge of monitoring his poll numbers and trying to locate a spike in poll numbers.
Lucky for me you don't have authority to put me in charge of anything. :P
Edit: I will note, however, that the French presidential election is apparently about a month away.
The authority was granted to me by the societal contract you implicitly agreed to when you stepped into some arbitrary boundary that some men 200 years ago decided on.
Nice try. :P

It turns out this tactic only really works if you have lots of guns and a willingness to murder people or put them in cages. Go figure.
Y ou immoral anarchists! You want to destroy law and property and charity and peace!

Those "Gang signs" you speak of are present in movies and TV and are also tatoos to show ownership of people in movies and pr0n. They are butterflys, rabbits, and kittens. Monarch butterflies are used to represent a certain kind of mind control, split personality. Rabbits and kittens are, obviously, both sex animals. The kind of thing in the movie "Taken" isn't too far off.
I just noticed that in the season finale of season 4 of Frasier, a woman leaves a message on Frasier's answering machine on accident saying she will be in town at around 10:30am and that she is on "American Flight 11." The whole episode is based around making big life changing knee jerk reactions because of this phone message. American Airlines Flight 11 is the exact plane that crashed into the 1st tower on 9/11 The creator and producer of Frasier was on that VERY plane. The episode aired on May 20, 1997. The last episode of the season, it was the closest episode airing to the date of 9/11 (that year).
There is also an episode of the Simpsons where they go to New York. When the family is deciding on going Lisa holds up...well here's a video, it should be self explanatory...It aired...September 21, 1997. The first episode of the ninth season, also the closest episode airing date to 9/11 (that year).
Ron Paul said he thought they were going to invade Iraq in 1998...they might have wanted to pull off 9/11 in 1998 as well.
As for TPTB...Syria, Iran, and Georgia are all steps into a conflict with Russia. We have spent 40 years building the Chinese economy up to take resources away from the Russians, but when the middle east blows up so will China. China needs that oil to produce. West Europe depends on that oil to produce. Russia is, behind Saudi Arabia, the largest producer and exporter of oil and natural gas. Europe will fall, in its entirety, into dependence on Russia for energy. China has options.
Brzezinski has said best case scenario for the U.S. is if China and Russia go at it. The strategic alliances between China, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia rub Russia, Syria, and Iran the wrong way. China's proxies have a nuclear umbrella, Russia's proxies have nothing and they have nothing because the U.S. (EU) and it's proxies (Israel) will not let them. The Chinese have their Shanghi Cooperation Organization (will be a Eastern equivalent of NATO in five to ten years). Ickenberry has a good description of what the "Western Liberal International Order" has been like and acted towards in most of his writings. My guess is an Eastern one with Russia as its head will be just as, if not more, brutal than the U.S. and Britain.
A more likely scenario is that China and Russia will hold a tenuous alliance to drown out U.S. influence in the Pacific Island region as well as North Africa, Middle East, and central Asia (This is a rather large implication put together). The U.S., after spending it's time in the time out zone, will only emerge again with the mentality of the early 1900's. It will seek energy and resources from Central and South America...
Specifically, I predict war (at least aerial operations) by mid-2013 at the absolute latest.
I have a feeling that it is all in Israel's hands. If Israel thinks that the GOP can win the election and will help Israel more, then Israel will wait until after the election. But, if they think that Obama is a surefire victory, then they might attack in September/October. Obama, for what it is worth, is placating them so as to give them the most ambiguous notion of his plan of action. Wise, if you ask me. Unlike these idiot Republicans screaming for bombs under any and every circumstance. Israel will be able to play the GOP candidate, should they win, like a blind whore at a Super Bowl halftime show. That is too say they will take advantage of them in front of multiple awestruck onlookers.
Also, totally forgot to report this to people here.
The Super PAC, Endorse Liberty, that is supporting Ron Paul was started by Mormons in Salt Lake City, Utah. Not saying Mormons couldn't actually support Paul, but I am saying that I doubt it. Would a Scientologist pick Paul over a fellow Scientologist....? I think not.
Anyway, this Bilderberg steering member Peter Thiel has given Ron Paul about 3 million dollars through the Endorse Liberty PAC. Now, everyone here knows that Ron Paul's official unofficial Super PAC is rEVOLution PAC...not this phony Mormon run trojan horse.
TPTB are roping Paul into the mix for something. It is not that HE or ROMNEY have some kind of strategic alliance, it is that the Romney handlers do and they are funneling money into Paul's campaign. This might be for usual stategic reasons that the media tells us or, as I'm hoping, it is a little bit more clever than that ;)
I like it when the eiltes keep us on our toes. It keeps things interesting.
Here's how I think war with Iran will play out:
Publicly, Israel decides to "go it alone" and attack Iran without (public) US help. The US publicly berates Israel for "making a rash decision" but also sternly warns Iran not to attack US military forces in the Persian Gulf. Iran sees through the charade and claims (correctly) that the US is supporting Israel behind the scenes. Therefore Iran feels justified in not only attacking Israeli military forces but also those of the US. It then proceeds to do so, prompting official outrage from the US, which then announces that it's gotten "dragged into" war with Iran.
Now the kicker of all this will be whether Russia and/or China decide to sit on the sidelines while this all plays out. If one or both of them doesn't, then that could lead rather straightforwardly to WWIII.
If one or both of them doesn't, then that could lead rather straightforwardly to WWIII.
The perfect distraction and cover-up for when their next attempt to usher in a global currency and taxing world government fails. "We need a global government! WWIII could have been prevented ... if only we had a world government!"
You know, the Korean war and the Vietnam war could have been attempts at WWIII. However, someone/the other side didn't budge or spoiled the plans. The current Middle East war could be another attempt at WWIII.
@Muffinburg: I think there are some notable differences. First of all, DC was not toppling regimes across the entirety of Asia and was not on an active campaign of demonizing Asians and Buddhism as "violent people" and "a violent religion". Second, I fit current events in the context of the idea that 9/11 was not an accident. Nor was it a remote "Gulf of Tonkin Incident" - it was meant to be psychologically scarring to the nation and, to one degree or another, it accomplished exactly that. Defense and "homeland security" spending went through the stratosphere in the wake of 9/11... I don't think we've seen these levels of spending since the end of WWII. In my mind, this puts the current conflagration in a class of its own.
I think some people (LRC, Gary North, etc.) are playing on the End of the World trope a little too hard. WWIII will not be the end of the world. It will not under any circumstances involve nuclear weapons (except, perhaps, so-called "dirty bombs"). What it will involve is the economic and human depletion and attrition of whoever enters the war and devastation of anyone unfortunate to be caught in the cross-fire. Look at the devastation wreaked over Europe during WWII. It's absolutely heartbreaking what the banksters and royalist Elites (and the "scumfuck capitalists", to borrow a phrase from Bill Hicks) did to Europe, all in the pursuit of their little imperial agenda to terrify the world into accepting a global government.
Lew Rockwell interviewed Jesse Trentadue on the murder of Jesse's brother, Kenneth, by the FBI. He uncovered a massive government conspiracy, and what's more, he has the evidence to prove it. The interview is both fascinating and horrifying. Visit the website kennethtrentadue.com for the evidence. I recommend reading the interview, as Trentadue provides an analysis based on both interviews and government documents.
And to anyone who ever doubts Clayton's conspiracy theories: maybe not all of his theories are right, as the government covers up the damn evidence. But here is a conspiracy that someone was able to uncover, despite the government's attempt to cover it up. And this is not a grunt level conspiracy to save a couple of bad FBI agents' asses. As you read the interview, you will see how high up the food chain it really went.
@gotlucky: Thanks for the link! I saw that on LRC headline and ignored it assuming it was some kind of old news about the usual USG murder and mayhem. I hadn't heard the term "PATCON" before, but I knew it existed... I was a teenager during the 1990's in the religious right-wing and we were aware that FBI infiltration was occurring in local militias (that guy with the East Coast accent and meticulously groomed hair that showed up out of nowhere in the militia meetings kind of sticks out like a sore thumb...)
You will find that the FBI also supplied the explosives for the first WTC bombing in 1993. They supposedly "accidentally" mixed up the live explosives with the dummy explosives they meant to give Yousef. I would be shocked if this wasn't connected to PATCON.
I would have thought you'd have been all over that podcast when it came out. I would have sworn there was a short discussion of it here in Low Content or something, and someone was highly recommending it, and there was even this separate thread:
Don't Miss Lew's Latest Podcast About OK City Bombing
Also note the integral role the media played in every one of these events. The CFR is possibly the single most dangerous non-government organization - to Americans - on American soil.

@JJ: Yep, saw that. I live near Portland, so the "Portland bomber" was a bit of a deal around here. I was unfazed by the news reports and immediately suspected it was just another FBI "sting".
Nice find, Duchess.
Contrary to popular belief, the protests weren't spontaneous or even tipped off by high food prices, but rathermeticulously planned by Ghonim and the "Revolutionary Youth Movement," with members drawn from the opposition network ElBaradei had been busy building since early 2010. The date January 25, 2011 was specifically picked after the uprising in Tunisia played out.
For some reason, the anti-capitalist academics (the Birkenstock-wearing so-called liberal professors and their PhD-cadidate, underpriviledged urban students) seem to always miss this. Perhaps it is because these revolutions (e.g. Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Oakland, and your local public school walkout) are not "spontaneous," but are "ignited" by people with ulterior motives; that is, the aforementioned.
This is how orders are sent down:
TPBT --> CIA, Mossad, Ford Foundation, et al --> liberal college professors --> PhD and masters cadidates --> The Youth , et al. Goals --> Strategy --> Middlemen --> Implentation --> Actualization
The irony is that the majority of propagandists actually believe the propaganda.
