What are the best sources of information on the state of the Canadian economy?

I work here in the US, but worry about my parent's savings (who live in Canadia).

Your parents in Canadia should be ok.  The Prince of  Canadia recently guaranteed everyone's savings with his own personal wealth, mostly accumulated in the dental hygiene and plastic injection mold industries.
