What is the meaning of the "Post Points" at the bottom of each forum post? How are they calculated?
I have wondered that also
The formula for post points is known only by the shadow mystics of the Mises Institute, and it is said that those who have many post points are favored by the spirits!

Yeah I've been wondering that too. What is the meaning behind the point system?
Once you get a certain number of points, you get to run the Mises Institute for a day. I've been secretly running it since September 2008. lmao
You get points for starting a thread or making a post. If you reply to a post, the replied post get more points. You might get bonus points for being selected as an answer to a question.
I think it is supposed to be tied to an incentive system, but Mises.org doesn't do anything in particular with it. People who average more than 15 points per post generally keep conversation going.

Considering what the fastest growing conversations have been about, that's not necessarily a good thing.

Nothing specific, but it helps to catch spammers and recognize "MVPs" and other future honors and privileges we may bestow.
