Obama Gives Interview to Arab TV, al-Qaeda running scared

Obama's diplomatic approach to the Muslim world will leave international terrorist networks devoid of new recruits, I hope.  At least it is a breath of fresh air compared to the jingoism of the right.

So what you`re saying is you don`t think Arabs are smart enough to recognise hollow phrases?

Well, they as a rule don`t buy the lies of their dictators. For example I hear Mubarak is not the most popular guy in Egypt. Actually I hear he would lose a fair election to Muslim Brotherhood in a landslide. So I would say they tend to be smarter.

I liked Ahmadinejad's response.

In the context of Obama charm campaign it is.

Brotherhood will say it is just empty talk, wheres I assume pro-Western Mubarak would wish to pretend it is more than that.

Its a complete joke for Obama to parrot that "America is not your enemy" when Bush used the same rhetoric all the time. Muslims will start believing him once the US closes all its bases in the middle east, pulls out all its troops, and stops giving aid and support to places like Egypt, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. How can anyone expect to believe him when a US drone launched a missle strike in Pakistan just recently killing around 21 people?
