How to pronounce "minarchism"

I really hate to have to start a thread here to ask this question, but there's no "stupid questions" subforum, so...

Doesn't that produce the same sound? Or does the first sound like the word mine?

I guess that's exactly the point. In my opinion the right pronounciation should be like the words minimal etc. This way there's also some connection to the meaning of the word but whatdo I know, there are many weird pronounciations out there that don't seem to make much sense.

Mine-Archy? Well I guess I 've been pronouncing it wrong all this time. That's not unusual for me.
First time I saw praxeology, I thought it was Prax-E-ology, and Hermione was Her-moine.

 I pronounce praxeology that way. A priori also varies in its pronunciations (I pronounce it 'ay-prior-ee'.)

minarchism = min-ark-izm (OP's second option)

praxeology = praksee-O-logy

a priori = ay pry-OR-ee (a prior-ee is a place you'd expect to find monks )

(And how on Earth do you get "her-moine" from "Hermione"?  I can see 'er-mee-own (thinking it's French) or "her-my-own" or something, but "moine"?)

I swapped the letters in my head. If I read too fast, I swap things.

Oh; you're forgiven then ... but I've heard that pronunciation before, and I don't think that's the reason.  (Google "Hermione her-moyn" for a lot of examples)

Minarchism wasn't in the Merriam-Webster, but it sounds quite alike

Now for a completely different question: where or from whom does this word derive?

Before I answer your question I would just like to make one point. Minarchism pronounced Min-Archism does make sense, as already pointed out.
min = minimal , archy = rule. Unfortunately the english language is inherently bloody confusing as unfortunately the english are a bunch of wimps (just kidding). But seriously, the Romans, Picts/Scots, Jutes, Angles, Saxons, Danes, Sorse, Swedish, AND the Normans. And let's not forget the dutch. So that's a lot of language influence....Yet I digress.

If we could find the context in which the word was coined or a recording of the word in use by the original coiner of the term, then we would have the correct pronunciation.
