Didn't work, but then I cleared cache and it did.

Thanks. Smile

That should have "hard" reloaded the page.  But yeah, sounded like a caching issue.  :)

On the community site, I have a problem with searching posts I've favorited.

Community -> scroll to bottom and press "view more" under Favorites

I get 3 of them, and it tells me "page 1 of 1 (4 items)" but there are only 3 items. Could be a problem with the counter or something. I'm not sure.

Edit: I just removed an item and another one appeared. It now says  "page 1 of 1 (3 items)" with 3 on the page.

More to do:

 - there are numerous links to local files in http://mises.org/pdf/austtrad.pdf, meaning, they may open well if the file is opened in a browser from Mises.org, but not so good if opened from the disk. Should be converted to complete links. Some links (e.g. Keynes was a Keynesian) are broken anyway.
 - title of the webpage seems to have broken special characters: http://mises.org/content/Bastiat200.asp, plus an unformatted title
 - the Executive Coffee Mug seems to be taken out of circulation - or at least out of Memorabilia, but it is still on my Wishlist. Would it be possible to display the status of such items? (Just noticed the comment "still out of stock" next to it in the Wishlist - easy to overlook, it would be even more useful on the item page.)

Some more minors:

 - in http://mises.org/humanaction/chap18sec9.asp in the very last sentence: "The individual saber's employment"
- searching for "George Selgin" in the general search, found a PDF document with the title "GAINST ISTAKEN ORALIZING" :) (has changed since then, still a fun one)
 - broken footnote links from [2] onward in http://mises.org/daily/1829

I just posted in this thread, and it stated my post needed approval; whereas I posted in that thread before also without that need. Is that a bug or is that normal?

Your computer is infected with malware.

Download a free malware scan software from http://www.avast.com/index or http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

and get this too: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx

Lol, how embarrassing.

Yeah, I have MS security essentials, MS defender and Malwarebyters - Anti Malware, which is great.

I should probably update and run a scan sometime...

Hehe, thanks.

And some more:

 - http://mises.org/MMMP/MMMP7.ASP some question marks out of place
 - http://blog.mises.org/2403/the-subsistence-fund/ spam links at the end, in fact, search for 'Florida mortgage' via Google and you'll find a lot of it
 - http://blog.mises.org/7055/george-selgin-on-the-misesian-style-cycle/ - more spam
 - http://mises.org/humanaction/chap20sec3.asp "However, their are instances "
 - http://mises.org/EFANDI/CH29.ASP Eugen von B?hm-Bawerk in several places

The question marks are a product of the change in software probably.  It was originally Böhm, and whatever changes to the software occured it stop recognizing the ö.  Sometimes if I write my name Catalán, that á will turn into ? for the same reason.  The spam in the blog is a problem, and so are spam tags in the articles themselves.

And more small stuff:

 - page http://mises.org/resources/950/JeanBaptiste-Say-Neglected-Champion-of-LaissezFaire should lead to http://mises.org/about/3242 (also a broken 'Readings' title in this one)
 - the wiki page seems like spam: http://mises.org/Community/wikis/howto/a-few-tips-on-saving-money-while-traveling.aspx
 - the The Calculation Debate link does not work in http://mises.org/econcalc.asp
 - spam - http://blog.mises.org/11222/the-bubble-decade/
 - special characters http://mises.org/nsande/pt1iich3~a.asp
 - misformatted Table of contents? http://mises.org/etexts/mises/og/chap6.asp
 - http://mises.org/daily/4531 - article seems to say it was first published in the Liberty Magazine in August 2007, but it quotes much later events and articles, is it okay?
 - products taken out of the shop are still featured as 'Related products' or in articles

To close it down:

 - article link not working on http://blog.mises.org/13599/kingdom-come-the-politics-of-the-millenium/
 - some stray question marks in http://mises.org/liberal/ch1sec4.asp
 - the Mises Stackexchange link is sadly broken

 - looking for "When Money Dies: The Nightmare of the Weimar" leads one to an invalid page or here - was the source removed?
 - http://mises.org/mmmp/mmmp7.asp - some question marks
 - http://mises.org/daily/207 - link to the conference is broken
 - pages of Human Action link to the wrong Table of Contents!

So...  On this thread:

http://mises.org/Community/forums/t/22235.aspx

The pagination is wonky.  First of all, I find it a smidge cumbersome that I have to scroll to the bottom to see the pagination, but that's not so bad when I can (generally) click the last page from the "Active Topics" or the main forum page (i.e. the five most recently commented threads).

But that's not a "bug," per se.  The bug is that this particular thread seems to be lagging far behind in the number of pages being displayed on the "Active Topics" page and the main forum page.  Rather than show the 19th page, it simply shows page 7.  Now, it is not the case that this simply got up to page 7 and stopped, because this thread has always been behind (I've been following it intently).  When it had only four pages, the front page and the "Active Topics" page reflected that there were only twp pages.

Since many of you staffers have been and are still active in that particular thread, I'm curious if anyone can provide for me an explanation as to why this happens with this thread, but not, say, with this thread:

http://mises.org/Community/forums/t/8551.aspx

For the record, I generally use IE8 (at work).  I do not recall whether I've loaded it in firefox at home.  I can provide screenshots if necessary.

I do know that the breadcrumb issue that everyone has talked about in this thread is not an issue in FF, and I suppose that's simply because IE is retardedly behind FF with regard to CSS.  I accept that my issue above also very well may be the retardation of IE.  :)  I just want someone to confirm it.

Thanks!
LP

I'd like to have the ability to quote posts very quickly since time management is critical for me. The only way I know how, based on a post by "filc", seems to me too laborious (though I am very grateful "filc" took the time to point this out). The depth and scope of the thinking and subject matter on this site is phenomenal though!

Did Filc tell you to hit "reply" and then change the "false" at the end of the URL to "true?"

If that's not what you're talking about, I'm curious what is time consuming about quoting posts...  I'm afraid I don't understand.  :)  It doesn't seem all that time-consuming to me.
