How do you get a Utube video to show up in a post? I see where I can "copy embed html", but the video itself does no appear in the post.
For example:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="<cke:param">http://www.youtube.com/v/l37RhdFGVsM&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l37RhdFGVsM&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
</param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l37RhdFGVsM&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>">Or this, using the add link
But how do I get the video itself to appear in the post?
"The market is a process." - Ludwig von Mises, as related by Israel Kirzner. "Capital formation is a beautiful thing" - Chloe732.
I said 'normal youtube url', not 'embed code'.
Example:
[ View : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNTzp9grp2Q : 640 : 480 ]
->
[ View : normal youtube url : 640 : 480 ]
Without the spaces.
Test ----
[View:<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="<cke:param">http://www.youtube.com/v/d0nERTFo-Sk&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_detailpage&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/d0nERTFo-Sk&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_detailpage&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>:640:480]
Nielsio, thanks for the reply. But my ignorance is profound. I copied the link from google, didn't work. Then I copied the embed html on the video itself. No luck. Where do I get the URL for a utube video? See the mess I came up with, above.
Again, forgive my ignorance. Thanks for the help.
.
can this thread be sticky, please?
(english is not my native language, sorry for grammar.)

Eliminate the spaces in it. I figured it out thanks to the tipster, thanx

You don't need to type the frame size, just put [ view: youtube-url ] into brackets.
So if I wanted to embed this video exactly what would it look like? Do I just paste it into the post? Do I have to be in the "source" area?

The post from the Welcome Thread I linked you to (which is probably how you found this thread):
Embed YouTube There is a thread on this here. You can embed YouTube clips by simply using the following code: [ View : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWsx1X8PV_A ] (without the spaces...and make sure it's plain text) You can also add sizes for the display by adding that to the end of the URL, separated by colons...so using the same link, [ View : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWsx1X8PV_A : 640 : 385 ] would yield the video in a 640x480 resolution. (640:385 is the recommended size)

I don't know any other way to say "put the url for the video in that syntax without the spaces."
Maybe,
[view:YOUR YOUTUBE LINK HERE:640:385 ]
?
I'm completely out of ideas.
From what I could see you literally said the same thing that was said in this thread multiple times. I'm not sure how that would help, unless you actually can do the same thing over and over again and eventually get a different result.
