When using Adobe 8.0 to read books, ie, like MES, I can't save the number to return to the page I am on.  Is there any way around this?

Tracking the page numbers manually has not worked for me.

Is the only alternative to either buy the book or buy an e-reader of some kind?

I agree with scineram.  Uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader and install Foxit Reader instead:

I use the free STDU viewer. Works great for comic books as well.

[Quick tip for STDU viewer: Press F6 to do a search of the document. The search in the upper right corner of the page is pretty bad].

I downloaded the Foxit reader.  IT WORKS!   I can click on "bookmark" to save the page, then save the file.

Thanks!  I now have a usable PDF reader.  yes
