Vichy Army, if the Nazis weren't fascists, what about Mussolini Italy and Franco Spain? Does a nation-state have to have a syndicalist-type economy to be fascist?
"I cannot prove, but am prepared to affirm, that if you take care of clarity in reasoning, most good causes will take care of themselves, while some bad ones are taken care of as a matter of course." -Anthony de Jasay
Nazis were National Socialists.
Italian Fascists were fascists; a handful of the Syndicates and Corporatist movements in S. America were fascist.
Does a nation-state have to have a syndicalist-type economy to be fascist?
Yes. Does a nation need to have a free market economy to be libertarian? Yes. This is just entailed if you're using the term with a historical meaning rather than an a slur.
Fraco got rid of all the syndicalist elements as soon as he took power. He was a traditional military strongman, he wasn't fascist at all.
“Socialism is a fraud, a comedy, a phantom, a blackmail.” - Benito Mussolini"Toute nation a le gouvernemente qu'il mérite." - Joseph de Maistre
I love when ancaps bash conservatives. I hate being associated with them because some people think we are right wingers (or cause we're capitalists). I don't about allying with them, but any free market or libertarian influence rubbing off on anyone is good.
I always get so confused when people accuse me of being a "right wing conservative".
Rothbard once said that a famous limited government, free market journalist had started to be called a "conservative" in the post-Depression era.
The said journalist famously wrote back to the paper that labelled him so:
"If anybody calls me a conservative, I will punch him in the face. I am a radical, I was a radical, and I always will be a radical."
