• Question about Publishing from an aspiring author...

I am working on a children's novel which I intend to self-publish under a creative comons - attribution only license. Thanks to Jeff Tucker and Stephan Kinsella, I'm no believer in intellectual property rights. I was wondering if anyone in the mises.org community has any first- or second-hand...

  • Re: Bitcoin DO NOT WANT!?
There's a difference between a promise and a contract. The latter is enforceable, the former is not.
No there isn't. A promise IS a contract. If Piet promises Mike to pay him US$100 next week then Piet is lawfully liable to do so. Your problem is just to prove that Piet made this...

  • Does this make anyone else sick? Domain Seizures

  • Selling videogames without IP...what do you think?

So I am in an odd place... I adhere wholly to the libertarian viewpoint that "IP" is actually an unethical state monopoly, but I am an entrepreneur in an industry (videogames) where it's tough to find people who agree, and even harder to convince them that this is a sustainable practice...

  • How would Batman treat Intellectual property?

Would the Dark Knight spread fear for those who copy music, use trademarks illegally, or break patent laws? Or would he say "Screw it, the Joker's more important."

  • Quick question about copyrights and websites

I've been learning a little here any there about IP, copyrights, licenses and so forth. Not much, but enough to know that I don't know exactly what I want to do. I do a little web design. That means I'm writing original html/xhtml code, javascript code, content, creating original images,...

  • Why So Much Anti-Copyright Rhetoric??

Hi friends, The idea of having a "legal copyright" seems to be crusaded against pretty heavily in libertarian circles. Could someone please explain this to me? It seems odd to me that I should just be able to copy someone else's music or writings -- and perhaps even profit by selling these...
