• Steven Pinker: Decline of violence, due to modern state?

He says something to this regard in the following video: http://archive.org/details/StevenPinker_2007 See 11:00ff forward. He also says that anarchy is an excentive for violence. I haven't fact checked everything, but I am actually pretty skeptical about this. He also gives other reasons.

  • Limited Government Think Tanks

My reading and experiences indicate that many have had bitter experiences in the non profit industry. Corruption in the Non Profit sector is more of a rule than an exception-even in limited Government think tanks. I know some closet anarchists who run or work with such think tanks, never coming open...

  • The black market is the answer to Big Government

The Black Market is to the "Legal" Economy as Defending your Rights is to Paying a Shakedown Man. A common misconception is that the Underground Economy or "Black Market" is a market for stolen goods. More often than not, this is not the case. Usually exchanges of certain goods and...

  • Re: Would a State emerge in this situation?

I would again like to reference Hoppe on this. He says in "Parasitism and the Origins of the State" something like cannibalism was the most primitive form of statism. But then people, in their rational self-interest, realized that turning a potential human meal into a slave would be more profitable...

  • Re: Would a State emerge in this situation?

Hans Hermann Hoppe in one LRC podcast said: "It is really a miracle that the state got off the ground" States rely foremost on opinion or propaganda to maintain itself. Violence through taxation is only second in importance because the host is always larger and can choose to overcome the parasite...

  • Should we change our label?

Given that the left and the government education system have succeeded so well in perverting words used in political discourse like Liberalism, I was wondering if we(as proponents of anarcho-capitalism collectively) should change our own label to cater for the more primitive instinctive reactions that...

  • Inspection Sticker

The Man pulled me over today for driving without an inspection sticker. I have not been pulled over for anything in years, but to be honest I have not had an inspection sticker on my vehicle for over a year as well--not because my truck won't pass inspection, but rather because I think the idea of...

  • Re: Religious anarchists; please explain
Henry Hazlitt would tell you to your face that economic freedom can not exist without good laws.
Good laws/rules/policies can exist without government. Walmart has a really good return policy. Is that because the government pointed a gun at them and said you must...

  • Re: Request: A Well Articulated Defense of Anarchism & a Response to the Greatest Problem of Mankind
I'm open to the plausibility of full scale anarchism if its endurance or stamina can be adequately defended.

...how does a group of men, which in the case of anarchism is not really a group but rather, various individuals...
