  • Ron Paul is a Voluntaryist (video)

In this video, using Ron Paul's own words from his books and interviews, it is shown that Ron Paul's goal is voluntaryism. He adopts limited-government positions and appeals to the U.S. Constitution as part of a long-term strategy for achieving a completely free society, absent any State.

  • A Socio-biological perspective on politics and classical libertarian thought.

Hey everyone, so this is my first post. i've written my ideas in essay form because other people are likely to read it and i don't like changing the introduction around. hope you enjoy and try at answering my questions. although i think the likely hood is that you will disagree with at least...

  • Best Fiction (Books or Movies) With a Theme of Freedom

I feel like this could end up being a fun post. I still haven't read Atlas Shrugged, but I've heard from everyone that it's a great book and promotes the free market. What are some other good books and movies that support the idea of a free society. Only fiction, please. However, if you know...

  • A brief essay on the dangers of partisanship in libertarianism.

War of Words: Communicating the ideas of liberty while avoiding partisanship in politics. I have had both the fortune and misfortune of finding Libertarianism and Austrian Economics at a critical time. The ideas of Mises, Rothbard and so many more contemporary thinkers are experiencing a boom, Ron Paul...

  • "Private option" for government?

I know Ron Paul has mentioned support of this sort of proposal before, but I wasn't really able to find much else on this idea. Has there been any thought given to promotion of a "Private option" for government? That is, people voluntarily giving up their "protections" like police...

  • All Mises U content now available through Bit Torrent

I thought this would be a good way of spreading our message freely, further, and faster. I arranged all information within the torrent exactly as it was downloaded from the beautifully-arranged Mises U that you have implemented on iTunes. I thought this additional format of delivery would be handy for...

  • Conservative??? Most are really not, are you?...

If you think being a conservative is to be pro war, interventionists, or to be big government, you are wrong. This is mostly towards Americans. Conservatives have been looked down upon these last view years. But in reality, most people dont know what a conservative is in America. Lets try to clear some...

  • Re: What would you do with the EU?

Secession is the only real hope. Maintain the free trade and common labor market, but get rid of the Euro and leave the political sphere. Losing your sovereignty to a national government is bad, but getting it lost to a multi-national government is even worse.

  • Lionel Robbins' joining the darkside

Hello, I have been reading Mises.org now for about 6 or 7 years and it has really been the best teacher I've ever had on almost any social science topic I've been interested in. Usually questions I have can be answered by doing searches on the site or at least i can be directed to something off...

  • Political Definitions

I would be interested in seeing a post, blog, website, etc that is devoted to defining political terms. I was at a Tea Party where I saw signs calling Obama a communist, a socialist, and a fascist. Which sign was correct? All three? What about Bush, what would we classify him as? I believe there are...
