If you've ever watched V for Vedetta and know about Guy Fawkes... Well these people dress up as him and have marches periodically protesting things. They were also the ones that hacked the Scientology website. Nonetheless, they would probably easily be converted into An. Caps.
Luis Buenaventura: I don't know if anybody mentioned this, but the libertarian movement lacks novels to support it-symbolically that is. We need another Atlas Shrugged (though shorter would be better to meet the short timespans of most people) or The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress-something the public can get a grasp of and would be inspired by in some way.

Don't forget about graphic novels and music. A good concept album would do wonders for us. But I do agree we need entertaining literature to inspire people.

Hmm...I do have a small amount of respect for Anonymous, they're basically fighting statist to be. And they're gung ho-esque attitude could be very helpful in the future. And the CoS has a way of bringing massive attention to it's enemies; Propaganda of the deed, Luis.

It might be helpful if somebody started a new thread for the sole idea of possible scenarios that could be used to write a novel or graphic novel. Who knows, somebody might one day get a book published through that. Or any computer savvy individuals here may create pamphlets that we could distribute through our community-tieing the mainstream problems of people today w/ a mainstream version of Austrian Economics. 'Cause hell, I'm 13 and I don't want to be given the burden of an excessive load of debt caused by fiscal irresponsibility.

If you're musically talented start a band. If you're an artist draw. If you like writing than write for the cause. It all adds up!

I've will, though much past that will be difficult considering the mind-boggling effects of a public school education.

Rebel against the public school skillfully! I'm sure there are many who share your view about it, but are to afraid to speak up. Also try to make allies with some of the outcasts, they could become good allies and friends.
I know how to get the message across... appeal to the only thing that masses care about... their wallets. I used speech class as an opportunity to enlighten my classmates. The first topic I spoke on was fractional reserve banking... now that got the whole class talking. Even the professor had no idea about it.
Second, I spoke on ethanol and how horrible it is as a fuel source. Informing the class how subsidies combined with the now mandated 25% of fuel as ethanol is causing not only increased food prices but food shortages in Mexico as well as other countries.
I still keep in contact with a few of the people from this class and answer questions they have for me, to the best of my ability. I feel that if I can help at least one person in each of my classes that I am making a good impact.

Yes we capitalist do you know, or eventually will, how the market works. We should definitely exploit that.
Nick. B: Panarchy: 1. You mean like a catchy name and slogan? Yes and more we have to get our message across through clothing lines, comic books, music, and fine art of all kinds. In a pro-market society, political idealolagy is a market product, and, as such has to be advertised in a fashionable, attractive, and cool way. And also as one of our mottos I suggest "HUMAN FREEDOM" it's simple, pretty catchy, and makes it clear everybody and anybody's freedom will be defended and amplifies that this is an "everymans" movement, and, also as a symbol, we should definitly revive the black rose! Panarchy: 2. Maybe something like a movie/documentary that will explain our ideals across to the masses (I can help with the script, my brother is also a writer) Don't just stop at documentries, also focus on movies that will portray us in a positive light: Iconoclastic, rebellious, fighters for true liberty. And also we should explore "Hacktivism" and other new forms of civil disobiedance; anything that will pique Main Stream Media's interest. Propaganda of the deed is meant to make people know we exist and make them curious about our cause and have some of them hopefully join us. MSM just does this unknowingly just by reporting our activities Panarchy: 3. Aww... we still need a nice catchy website... eh? Maybe tie this in with the documentary. This is true and should be. Also all websites should encourage organisation and activity outside of the computer, and, encourage meeting up with fellow AnCaps. to be continued...

Eric: I ran into this site called libhotties.com, and if I am understanding this correctly,it is basically a bunch of girls trying to lure more guys into libertarianism. It has Mises.org as a recommended link too. I was wondering what you guys thought about this? I guess it could attract some people, but I think it is slightly emberassing for some odd reason. Would a guy really become a libertarian only because an attractive female asked him too? I think the girls on the site are statists, but maybe I am wrong. I was just wondering what your comments were about this unusual tactic. (the site is G rated if anyone was wondering, lol)

What's this about people hacking the scientology website?
Hmm... not a bad idea. To bad I'm not much of a writer (I like writing, but have never got past short-stories... lol, that was a few years ago)

When I went to school I sent out an email, to every single year group, with this article: http://mises.org/journals/jls/19_2/19_2_5.pdf attached.
(I know the author pretty well)
Most people didn't even open the attachment
I remember one person having read it, the said some ignorant thing such as "Yes, but it would widen the gap between the rich and the poor".... LOL
Didn't really get the ball rolling (as I hoped it would).
But it was fun to do! (after that the admins stopped anyone other than teachers being able to send to whole classes/year groups)

I've tried to explain the benefits of anrchy-libertarianism to my peers, yet I seem to be surrounded by either religiouos zealots who are determined to limits indivual rights and misinformed democrats. Though I did get one conversion to libertarianism, that being a kid that was at one point obsessed with 4c**n. I at one point did begin posting up papers around the school about the libertarianism and the austrian business cycle, but I was later chastised for apparently being "anarchacious." I would not dare ruin my future any further-hence any civil disobedience within the the school is unquestionable.
BTW, I used live in California, and and from experiance, and a drug/homosexually oriented (though maybe not due to the recent proposition) slogan like
YOU CAN HAVE DRUGS AND DO YOUR PARTNER IN THE BUTTHOLE TOO!!! could possibly be acceptable by their standards. ; -)
Panarchy: 1. Nah, HUMAN FREEDOM isn't the best one. What word are you going to try next? Liberty? Anarchy? No, none of these words will help further our cause. These words have all been to corrupted by modern society.
The reason I use "HUMAN FREEDOM" is because it's easy to translate and even in the most conservative or liberal countries, it would not be seen as a real threatening call to the government, this in effect would give the Libertarians in even the most despotic nations time to build strength and at the same time remind them what they're fighting for, the slogan isn't so much a slogan, as it is a weapon comparable to molotov cocktail, easy to obtain, ingredients seem harmless apart, but together make a deadly weapon, and is basically when a revolutionary Libertarian militia finally gains the strength to fight the tyrant, is a terrifying war call that will be heard around the world as a warning to all other nation-states and it's leader! Also "FOR A NEW LIBERTY" should be a slogan we seriosly consider.
Panarchy: Now there's a good slogan; "Freedom is Sexy"
"FREEDOM IS SEXY" is an alright slogan for the western area, however it would be a disaster in the middle east and Africa, these areas are very conservative and a slogan that liberal would be a red flag for those government. The Libertarians there would almost instantly be shut down without any mercy or second thought by their government. Trust me these governments are willing to stone to death woman who have been raped because they were not married to them and as such weren't, in the government's eyes "pure".

Yes! There are going to be alot of disillusioned people out there, and we're gonna have to grab and deprogram them! And lets not just stop there are strongest emphasis should be on (drum roll please) "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS"! They'd be a major contribution to the movement and we have to seize every oppurtunity we can find.

I'd be very suprised if the government would help in getting rid of... the governement.
I don't think that this 'Obama' you speak of will be of any use to the libertarian movement. Let's never mention him again. It doesn't seem productive.

You misunderstood me, BIG TIME! I'm saying when all these hope filled little sheeple realise their savior, Obama, is a hack, they'll become disilisioned at such a grand scale, that, we Libertarians, can recruit them and deprogram them. Obama himself won't help us, but, his failures will. And while we're at it let's begin focusing on recruiting "illegal immigrants" to our ranks. Do you understand now?

I am starting to come to the same conclusion. On other forums, people that just cannot make intelligent posts, I am putting on an ignore list, since they cannot even understand basic critical thinking concepts.
At most, I think only 5% of the adult population would need to stop cooperating to have real change.

Generally people are dull and ignorant. Ignore them, we only need a minority anyway.

I do not really think so. Most people are sheeple.
Take my mother for example. The main stream media had convinced her that "free trade" was a good thing, but now they have convinced her it is a bad thing. If we became the "MSM", and we were able to feed propaganda to people 24/7, they would be easily led.
15% seems like a huge number to me though. That would mean that 15 out of every 100 people you met would be a libertarian. As it is here, I doubt 1 out of 200 are.

We could try a "Propaganda of the deed" tactics and strategies. And also things to encourage grassroots movements.
Nick, not that I want to lose you and your enthusiasm here, but perhaps you want to check out www.Bureaucrash.com Their focus seems more action driven. I'm on the social network, but haven't visited in a long while. I think Wombatron is there too.

I don't know how you managed to conclude that we need to influence people who are nothing but sheep. We do not need the help of the average person, who is nothing but dull and ignorant and really couldn't care less about some ideal of capitalism or socialism. We need a small number of educated libertarians who are capable of spreading the idea to areas of country in which people do care about more than putting food on the table. The message also needs to be as radical and as uncompromising as possible.

Preaching to the choir has it's uses regarding morale, & frankly, sometimes a libertarian and/or anarchist just needs to be able to read such preaching somewhere else outside of his/her head to keep their resolve going.Besides, newbies get a free-pass for a while, imo.

Nick. B:Why? Hope I'm not being a pest.
If you were being a pest, I would not tell you where my other hangouts are. lol
Trust me, there are pests here (I might be one). You are not a pest.
Nick. B: Panarchy: I've got a website I'm not using at the moment (though I warn you, as soon as I have need of it, I'll put everything you guys have done in a zip file, send it to you, confirm that you have received it, then DELETE everything on the server). If you're still interested, tell me!!! Panarchy PS: Probably a few months at least before I will need the website... if you're lucky, a year. Definitely Panarchy!!!
Sure thing!
Please PM me everything needed (html [or whatever you're using], scripts [if you're using them], CSS [if using!], images and whatever else into a ZIP file, and I'll upload it to my site!
Nick. B: ryanpatgray: Panarchy:Don't we need more than just 15%? We might not need the majority (as you know, many revolutions were lead by the few, not the many!), but seriously, 15%? I do not really think so. Most people are sheeple. Take my mother for example. The main stream media had convinced her that "free trade" was a good thing, but now they have convinced her it is a bad thing. If we became the "MSM", and we were able to feed propaganda to people 24/7, they would be easily led. 15% seems like a huge number to me though. That would mean that 15 out of every 100 people you met would be a libertarian. As it is here, I doubt 1 out of 200 are. But how do we become the MSM without at least a sizable minority? If we do not have a pool of an-caps or at least minarchist libertarians from which to draw tallent there is no way that we could become the MSM. We need a critical mass first.

I don't know if I read this, or I said this before, but;
Most (if not all) revolutions were done by the few, not the many. (non-majority[ial])!
So why can't we do the same?
I wouldn't say that they are sub-human, but it is a good point that they may not deserve liberty. It seems to me that a large portion of the population of the world doesn't want liberty, they want to be ruled. I've been wrestling personally with how a libertarian society could be implemented, and whether or not it's even possible to have a true libertarian society, and the large segment of society that doesn't want the responsibility of freedom seems to me to be the largest hurdle. Even more so than the state not voluntarily relinquishing power.
